More than any other element, cabinetry dictates a space’s design style and functionality. Aesthetics of any room are important, including the choice of cabinets and style. So how do you choose the right style for your new space? Here are our best tips.

Define your style

What design style speaks best to you? Traditional, farmhouse, modern? The list of styles and sub-genres to those styles are endless. We recommend exploring multiple avenues for inspiration and try to find a common denominator in your favorite images. Sites such as Houzz and Pinterest are great places to start. Our room gallery is also an excellent source for inspiration. Need a bit more assistance? Your trusty authorized kitchen designer is a leading expert in the industry.

Looking for something traditional? Start with a raised panel door, with an elaborate molding or decorative motif.

Make use of materials

Siteline’s myriad of material offerings will help influence your choice in style. Most of our non-wood alternate materials are only available in a slab style, but this type of style doesn’t always dictate modern. Our wood doors can give an added depth or texture to contribute to your preferred styling. Mix and match materials, like wood, acrylic, paint, veneer, and laminate to create a high contrast look.

Enhance your style with your finish and other design details

Once you have settled on a door style and material, you can begin your finish selection. From wood tone naturals and stains, paints, and pre-finished alternate materials, everything can be finished just how you desire. If you’re a bit more traditional or rustic, think about adding a glaze to your finish, which will highlight the depth and detail of your door style. We highly recommend contacting your authorized designer to order a door sample, so you can see how your cabinetry will look on a smaller scale. A door sample is also handy when it comes to choosing hardware, faucets, backsplash, and countertops.
